Enrollment

Enrollment into Head Start is determined by the individual programs’ selection criteria. Factors considered in determining eligibility and priority for enrollment include the following:

*  Family income is at or below the federal poverty guidelines
*  Family income can be up to 130% of the federal poverty guidelines if all families at or below guidelines have been accomodated
*  Family receives public assistance (TANF, SSI)
*  Family is homeless
*  Child is in foster care
*  Child has a disability
*  10% of enrollment opportunities can be for families whose incomes surpass poverty guidelines, if space is available
